Camping at Mt. Charleston

John decided to take the older kids camping a week before school started.  The kids had way too much energy and needed to get outdoors and run around.  We debated for a real little amount of time if we would all go but then decided that the baby was too little and it would just be miserable for all of us to be in one tent with a baby who is up every three hours. I was sad not to get to go. I feel like I missed out on a lot of fun this summer.   However, I am grateful that even though I wasn’t able to go have lots of fun that John was willing to do all these fun things with the kids without me.

John and the kids ended up going to Mt. Charleston.  It was the middle of the week and so we didn’t think there would be a problem getting a camping spot.  However, when they got there they were almost completely full.  He said the camping spot wasn’t the greatest but of course the kids didn’t notice or care.

They had sandwiches, chips and fruit for dinner and roasted S’mores for a snack.

The next day they went on two hikes.  One that Micah could walk on and the other where he was carried in the pack. When Micah came home he got all excited and told me they saw a water slide.  I have told him it is called a waterfall but he still calls it a water slide.

They all came home dirty, tired and grumpy.  Which only means that it was a very successful camping trip.
