A Field Trip

This past week Curtis had a class field trip to the Wetlands.  I wasn’t planning on attending.  John was going to be out of town. Getting sitters and rides home from school for the other kids seemed too much.  Then John decided to stay home from his trip.  And since Curtis was still begging me to go I decided I would.

I was so glad I did go.  It was actually a pretty cool field trip.  Each of the kids were given a notebook to mark their findings in, a pair of binoculars and a pouch to hold their water bottle.  It was actually perfect weather for a two hour walk through the wetlands.

We had a great tour guide and all the kids in our group were well behaved and very interested in finding track marks and wildlife.  I learned a ton too. I didn’t know we had Beavers, foxes and coyotes here in Vegas.

Curtis had so much fun he wanted to go back the next day with the whole family.  We didn’t though.  One day we will though.  It is a perfect activity for all the kids.

I am glad Curtis wanted me to go.  I had fun spending the morning with him.  Next week it is John’s turn to spend time with Curtis at school.  He gets to help with the Halloween Party!  I am grateful our school is so open to having the families participate in so many of the activities.  We just love our Elementary School.
