One evening Laie had a fun summer Jam event at the Laie Shopping Center.  I took the three oldest kids to check it out.

I was happily surprised to see that all the rides and activities were free.  There was absolutely no cost to be there at the summer jam.

There were a few bounce houses, a spinning ride (which we avoided because I did not want to get sick) and a rock climbing wall.  Curtis and Alessia both did the rock climbing wall.  Curtis scaled it really quickly.  Alessia, who is always up for an adventure took a bit longer and only made it about 3/4 of the way before wanting to be lowered.  I was completely surprised that she didn’t finish it. Alessia is a fighter and doesn’t give up easily.  It is a trait that serves her well.  She is able to learn a lot of things because she does not give up easily.  I’m not sure why she stopped climbing but it didn’t really matter.  She still had fun.

After enjoying the bounce houses and slides we went and had dinner at Subway.

It was a really fun night.  The community is so small there that we actually even knew people while we were there.  It made me miss the small town atmosphere.
