We spent Thanksgiving weekend in Utah. We stayed in Payson with my sister, Shannon. My parents were flying in from NY on Thanksgiving. They were supposed to get in early enough so we could do lunch with my family and then pie in Salt Lake with John’s family. However, there were delays and so we had to switch things up a bit.
We decided to go to Salt Lake City earlier so we could see John’s family. Once they were ready to eat we headed back to Payson, which was about the time my parents were driving with Janeen to Payson.
Of course we got lost and drove around Payson for a long time and were late. I hate being lost. I hate being late. I was not in a good mood. I was tired. I was hungry and I hate Utah addresses. Finally we made it though and we had a nice dinner.
As soon as it was over we rushed over to Wal-Mart to catch some of their Thanksgiving day sales. We were in and out pretty quickly.
The next day we spent playing with cousins at the park. Then Grammy and Poppi treated the grandkids to Happy Meals at Wendys.
In the afternoon we left Gianluca with my parents and we took the rest of our kids, Rylee and Ellie with us to Salt Lake. We met John’s mom and sisters, Mary and Natalie at a bowling Alley. We had fun bowling. It was Ellie’s first time bowling. We went back to John’s parents home and had some much needed pie. Then we met John’s dad and went over to see the lights on Temple Square. It was a little cold but the kids had fun. It was nice because each of the older kids had a cousin friend to be with and so there wasn’t any complaining from anyone. Micah was also in love with Ellie. She was so nice to him too and held his hand whenever he wanted her too. The lights on Temple Square were beautiful. It was a really fun night. By the time we got back to Payson it was really late, but it was worth it.
The next day was Kenzie’s baptism. It was a beautiful service. She looked gorgeous in her white dress. After the baptism we went back to Shannon’s and had lunch. Then we loaded everything up and headed back home.
It was a really quick trip but a really fun one. It was nice to be able to spend Thanksgiving with our families, since we hardly do that anymore. It was also nice to help Kenzie celebrate her important baptism day.
