Garage Door

Right after we arrived in Utah we heard from our neighbors that our house had been vandalized.  We still aren’t entirely sure what had happened but it looks like someone drove their SUV through our garage.   They ended up hitting a load bearing wall.  The city had to come and inspect it and make sure it was safe.  While the damage was a lot it really could have been much worse.  Our neighbors boarded up the garage for us so the house would be safe while we were gone.

When we came back from Utah we started the process of getting the garage fixed.  We went through our insurance company (again!  remember the flood) because it would have cost us too much money to cover it ourselves.

In the end it took about 4 months to get everything back to the way they were originally.  We had a new garage door, new stucco and new paint on the front of the garage.

And just because life wasn’t already crazy our main water sprung a leak the day before we came home from Utah. So I got to deal with that as soon as I got home.  We thought it was fixed and then it sprung a leak again.  Of course after it was fixed the upstairs bathroom sprung another leak.  When the plumber came our for that they caught another leak in the main water line as well as the sprinkler system.  Luckily they were able to fix everything and cross our fingers we haven’t had any more leaks. We decided not to go through our insurance for all those leaks because two claims in a 6 week period already felt extreme.
