Stitches

We decided all to go to the park and play while John played some Ultimate Frisbee.  However, we didn’t last very long.  The kids and I were walking around the track and there is a little ditch/bridge/tunnel section.  Mich went to climb up the walkway under the tunnel but it was wet with sewer water and he slipped and cut open the under side of his chin. He was completely freaking out.  He was wet, it hurt and he was covered in blood. I took off his shirt and just tried to apply pressure to it while.  I sent the older kids to get John while I tried to walk back while holding Micah’s face in my hands and trying to get Gianluca to follow me.  I am sure we were quite the sight to see.

John dropped the rest of us at home and then took Micah to instacare for some stitches.  After he got his stitches he didn’t think he could move his chin so he wouldn’t talk or eat for awhile.

Unfortunately instead of looking like it was getting better with time it was looking worse. I figured it had to be infected.  We went back to the dr.  They circled the red area and sent us home with a prescription to clear out the infection.  Luckily the antibiotics worked and a few days later we were able to go back and have the stitches removed.

It was quite the ordeal.  We celebrated with a quick lunch date before having to take Micah back to school.

Poor Micah is our stitches boy and he seems to only ever need them on his face.  Hopefully we make it a long time before he needs stitches again.
